Kansas City has lots to do, and lots to see- but one of the best things to see in KC are the different walls featuring the work of artists throughout the city. Here are just a few of my favorites!

Guide to a Date Night in KC

Whether you want to take a special someone out for the first time in KC, or you just want to switch up your regular date night in the city- this guide will make your night perfect!

Here’s three different date night options, try the one that seems perfect for you!

The River Market Date Night

I absolutely love the River Market area, it’s such a fun little area of KC! They have tons of delicious food options, but Il Lazzarone would definitely my choice for a date night. It’s Neapolitan style wood fire pizza, super authentic and absolutely delicious. They also have a killer cocktail menu, and outdoor seating!

After pizza, go and explore the river market area a little bit! There’s plenty to see, between downtown KC’s skyline, window shopping, occasionally live music, it makes for a great atmosphere to walk and talk with your date!

After walking around, you’ll definitely stumble upon Betty Rae’s Ice cream just down the street from Il Lazzarone. What better way to end the evening, than with a few scoops from Betty Rae’s ! Try one of the fun flavors they come up with, like “cereal milk” or “Chile mango”.

The Country Club Plaza Date

You can’t go wrong with a date night at the Plaza, there’s always so much to do and see. Start the night off with a walk around the Plaza to see the gorgeous water fountains, and if you walk all the way to the end you’ll find yourself at Mill Creek Park where the iconic J.C. Nichols memorial fountain is!

Out of the many dinner spots in the Country Club Plaza, my pick for a date night would definitely be Zócalo. It’s a modern twist on classic Mexican food, they have amazing tacos, nachos, empanadas and more! The restaurant is super colorful but classy, they have outdoor patio seating and a full bar!

After dinner, a great dessert spot on the plaza is the Waffle Bar next to the Apple store. They serve bubble waffles packed with ice cream and your choice of toppings, as well as waffle pops dipped in icing!

The Liberty Memorial Date Night

This date night is definitely a little more adventurous than the last two options. You start out at the Liberty Memorial, tickets are $5 each to take an elevator most of the way up the Memorial. Then you climb 45 stairs to the top, and get the most amazing 360 degree view of Kansas City.

After exploring the Memorial, head down to Blue Sushi Sake Grill for some amazing Sushi. Occasionally there can be a wait at this location during busier times, but you can always call ahead to check.

After your fill of sushi, end the night by walking over to the Roasterie for a little after dinner dessert. Choose from their selection of freshly baked goods and treats, and they don’t close until 9 pm!

Going on a first date with someone, or rekindling that date night flame with your significant other- these dates are perfect for any couple. They’re even great for any single ones out there, to go have a fun night with a friend! Leave a comment below and let me know which date you would try first! 🌟

This museum is totally free (although donations are accepted) and they often rotate new exhibits in and old ones out. I’ve easily spent 2 hours or more here in an afternoon and not covered the entire museum. They have everything ranging from Asian Art to Roman Art, and some great American and European paintings. They have elevators throughout the museum making it definitely kid and stroller friendly ! The sculpture park surrounding the museum also makes for an interesting walk.

4. Farmers Market

The farmers market in the City Market of KC is the best Farmers market I’ve been to in the area! There are so many vendors, shops, and booths selling amazing goods. You can find fresh flowers, authentic food, antiques, KC gear and everything in between. Most weekends I end up here, even just for a nice walk. It costs nothing to enter the Market, and lots of people give out free samples ! Kid and pet friendly, there’s even a small park behind the market where there’s FREE yoga on Sunday mornings !
